Significant Shifts in the Earth's Energy Field Prompt Powerful Transformations

LIBRA (September 24-October 23) As the Sun moves into the sign of Libra, the autumn season begins. Libra, the seventh sign of the zodiac, highlights beauty, harmony, finances, love and the need for balance. Libra is symbolic of the self in alliance with others. We all have Libra somewhere in our chart where these energies play out. It is said that natives of this sign, see both sides of an issue, strive for justice, and often find it difficult to choose a position because of their ever-present quest for fairness.

This month, the Sun’s alignment with the Super Galactic Center is formed a few days before and after the Libra New Moon on September 27th. This is the fourth of six SuperMoons this year. A SuperMoon occurs when the Moon is in perigee (at its closest approach to the Earth.) This represents significant shifts in the Earth’s energy field as well as in human consciousness.

The New Moon, at 4 degrees Libra, sets the tone for new beginnings. This lunation generally associated with peace and harmony, meets an opposition between the unpredictable forces of Uranus in Aries, as it squares the volatile energies of Pluto in Capricorn. These untamed forces require our individual authenticity to make powerful transformations, as we become more aware that we can no longer depend on the old structures for support. We get help pursuing our personal goals, by relying on the creativity and courage of action-oriented Mars in the bold sign of Leo.

Venus, the natural ruler of Libra and co-ruler of Taurus, moves into the emotionally introspective sign of Scorpio from October 8th to November 2nd. While in Scorpio, the love principle is not easily expressed and sensitivities become heightened. On October 13th, the mental forces of Mercury exit the sign of Libra and join the magnetic energies of Venus in Scorpio for the next three weeks. Communication becomes reserved, powerful and fiercely acute.
On October 17th, Jupiter trines Pluto until November 7th. This favorable aspect replicates a similar configuration that occurred last July from the 2nd through 14th. Our confidence is bolstered to make the most of any opportunity during this time.

The Full Moon on October 11th at 18 degrees Aries opposes Saturn in Libra. The aggressive fire energies of Aries meet opposition from the cautious, restraining energies of Saturn. We are encouraged to eliminate the things that are not working in our lives and focus on strengthening the things that serve a useful purpose. The goal for this month is to embrace change and spontaneity by using quick perceptions and a higher connection.
