Empowering Women to Live Their Dreams in Business and Life

I have just started reading the 4-Hour Work Week, by Timothy Ferriss. It is very interesting. He is writing about a lifestyle that I have been fantasizing about for basically my entire adult work-life. I have tried starting several different small businesses that have not succeeded in the past. Right now I am doing well with my company Future Collegiate Athletes, it is almost a whopping 3-years old now! But, I still pay the bills with my day-job.

Interesting to look how other people with varied and diverse interests have found a way to thrive without a 9-5!

That is also a very appealing idea to me. I am sure there are a lot of things that I could outsource, but it will be a significant change of mind-set for me. My problem is usually that I wait so long to do something that I have to just do it myself (i.e. making copies at midnight the night before an 8:00 am presentation....). I think it would really force me to decide what things I do on a regular basis that are really valuable. I will be easing into this form of thinking.

I did outsource a logo designer and was very happy with that process. Gave me several iterations on the logo design before I decided on the final product. It was an overseas company that I found on the internet and they did a great job for me for only $79.

I have read this book too, I want to hire a personal assistant to take care of my menial tasks.
I recently hired a housekeeper once a month, not quite sure how I'm going to explain it to my hubby but it takes a load off of me and I know I can pay for it with my business.

I've always thought your husband was a funny man!

I made the mistake of sharing "The 4-hour Work Week" with my husband. He said, "Why would I want to double my time?" Maybe something was lost in translation.....any comments?

So today I read about the process of DREAM-LINING....Coming up with some seemingly unreasonable dreams and then applying a cost/time-line to them. So, I am thinking about what would be my ultimate way to spend my time. Some of the things that I am thinking about are:

I want to be a competitive doubles volleyball player (granted possibly competitive w/in my own age-group....)
...Travel all over the world playing in volleyball tournaments
I want to coach/teach volleyball to young kids, share my love for the game
I want to be a best-selling author and speaker
...Travel all over the world inspiring large groups of people with my message
I want to play with my kids at the beach and climb mountains with them
...Travel with my kids and show them the world
I want to learn to speak Spanish fluently
I want to pay someone else to clean my house so that I always come home to a neat and tidy home

This is just the beginning of my list...more dreaming to come

I am loving this book. It really brings to life many options I had never thought possible before. I have really enjoyed this read. Let's make plans for traveling the world together.
